Yeah I’ve been seeing more of this with athletes and celebrities. My take is pretty simple: the celebrity doesn’t really do much, other than provide a lot of marketing-first branding. Some may even bring a good amount of money themselves into the fund (cause they got money).
Their business partners and connections are the ones doing all the real work.
Is this a scam? No, but don’t expect Kevin hart or Dwight Howard or Kim Kardashian do be doing any real work.
Do you think they profit a lot though?

Unless they have professional managers, it’s generally a red flag if a celebrity is involved. But then again, if they were serious, they’d probably just put money in an existing fund. Big “no” for me unless returns are not a priority
