I am in a client service account associate role right now helping AMs/AEs/Producers manage their books of business. A recruiter reached out to me with a Client Manager position. I have imposter syndrome because i have only been in insurance for 4 years. The first year being an intern/admin, so technically 3 years. (continued in comments...)

I do not have lots of experience in a niche industry nor do I have actual experience recommending coverages to insureds because my AMs/Producers are the ones dealing with that. For those of you who have several years on them and worked their way up also, did you guys know exactly what you were doing when you made the jump from an associate assistant to AM? Any advice would help! thank you.

As long as you’re comfortable with coverage basics on property and liability policies, understand standard endorsements, and can read and process insurance certificates and Auto ID cards, you’ll have no trouble in that role. I did it right out of college and it was a lot to learn, but most of your peers will be patient with you during your first year so don’t worry about your experience too much as you’re probably more knowledgeable than you think — definitely more knowledgeable than I was going into a client manager role.

Does anyone know if this is normal? I joined a vault 100 firm in September last year. The firm put me on tier 7. In January I had the associate review and everything was normal. After a couple of weeks, I got the call from the hiring partner telling my bonus and new salary (because of the firm-wide salary increase). I realized I still get paid as a 7 year associate. The partner said because I joined the firm later in the year, it’s normal not to advance in the next year. Is it? Thanks!

My remit quadrupled+ in a recent re-org with no increase in pay/promotion, my new director is new to the company and was zero help, and I was passed over for recent promotion during the comp cycle. The new director essentially began shutting me down any time I ask for clarity in my career progression. Now they have taken credit for the project I’ve been building over the past year+ without giving me props whatsoever to higher ups. What is the best plan of action here?

I know this sounds weird, but I think my fiancé has my tech tapped… I journal and write short stories that I’ve used as an outlet for years. Way before I met him. Lately, it feels like he repeats things that I’ve written or said over the phone. For example, I’ll tell a friend that I want to visit her in San Diego. Then, he’ll come home and say I should visit my friend in San Diego soon. Am I paranoid or is he really listening? I feel violated and exposed. He doesn’t have a tech background.

I'm feeling a lot of anger towards my manager (now he's acting normal but there were moments where he was condescending/dismissive/mocked my and others work/arrogant/said stuff was "wrong" constantly/belittling the difficulty of tasks etc. in the past project).
Maybe it is "standard chewing out" but it bothered me a lot. So much that I find myself still getting all fired up inside thinking about it...
Idk how to let go of this :/ Thoughts?
