I am new to luxury watches and plan is to

1) buy 1 watch that is under 500$ to start with. If I enjoy wearing it and having it.

2) buy Omega under 4-5K, 1 year later if the first watch gives me joy and pride.

Want to know what should I start with for step 1 above? Is Tissot V8 Swissmatic a good watch for starters?(240$ on Amazon). Looking for preferably automatic ones.
