My best advice would be to network as much as possible! I also do telesales. My approach is to genuinely seek to help people and consult, not just sell. People can tell when you have sales/commission breath. Be polite, not pushy, and listen.
Congrats on this part of your journey OP! I would agree on the networking end, but also observe others! You can get a lot of knowledge just by seeing what works and what doesn't based on what other people are doing. It can help you in developing your working and sales style!
I started out in sales and found that it was incredibly helpful to have a really good manager and work for a company that wasn't stingy with their warm leads. I've heard horror stories about some companies only passing on leads to the senior salespeople, which is ridiculous and unfair. In the end, I decided selling wasn't for me and moved to back office, but I'd definitely focus on choosing the right company and a manager who will take you under their wing and truly help you succeed. Best of luck to you!
Congratulations, OP! Network and meet as many people as possible. Build a relationship with people and so it would be easier for you to talk business later on.
Wow! Congrats! List down your goal and stay committed to it. There are going to be hard days but you will get through it.
