Rising Star
More post-racial analysis.
So now unless there’s a paper trail specifically saying their intention is to gerrymander based on race, it doesn’t matter at all how badly they gerrymander based on race.
You don’t need to pretend like this was a well reasoned decision from SCOTUS just because you like the outcome.
Rising Star
This was the majority decision in regards to Gingles: “none of the historical evidence presented by plaintiffs came close to showing an objective likelihood that the State’s challenged map was the result of intentional racial discrimination.”
Catch the third to last word? It’s new to that test. Why is it new 60 years after the statute? Because the right-leaning justices just don’t think this statute is relevant anymore and they’re rendered it useless now with this new standard in deference to political gerrymandering.
He (Alito) also wrote: “things have changed dramatically’” in the South “in the decades since the passage of the Voting Rights Act.” When the law was enacted “the Nation had faced nearly a century of ‘entrenched racial discrimination in voting,’” but “Black voters now participate in elections at similar rates as the rest of the electorate.”
A post-racial narrative that isn’t even relevant. Them being able to cast ballots doesn’t really matter if their voice is gerrymandering out of the political process, and apparently the only solution to it is the political process (“so good luck with that”).

You ever hear the saying, "if you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit?"

What exactly are you upset about? Human speaks languages. Barking is hard to understand.

I am just here to test whether people (supposed to be smart and educated) in this bowl can articulate their reasoning and explain why, with language.
