If part of your core identity is a political party, you got lost somewhere along the way.

^ this.. the vast majority of people most likely do not identify with 100% of their party’s positions.
I feel like most people are scared to speak out against their party even if they don’t believe in something because it will give the “other side” a foothold.
Party identification shouldn’t be a thing. Parties are fine, but people should independently think before voting instead of having blind party loyalty. The only people you should be loyal to are your family and friends.
We also have to realize these parties are private institutions with no true accountability to anyone or the public. We let private institutions determine who will be our president, reps and senators...

Is it ok to identify as black or LGBTQ+?
Same with Blue Lives mattering vs. Black lives. One is a uniform you can take off or change.

Love the idealism but the game is dependent on the two-party turf war.

I agree that everything is politicized more than ever, but social media also plays a role in American politics. Plus, Americans have been conditioned to think politics, like our sports, is a zero sum game. That’s the original sin that needs to be addressed.
