Ha! Yeah, consultants make a lot of money for not having to do a whole lot lol

Real estate agents. I feel like all they do is opening the doors. Can be easily automated

Agree. Paying them a % of the house value is not reflective of their effort. Do they work twice as hard for a $400k house over a $200k house?

It's the President of the United States when he uses the position solely to enrich himself while screwing everyone else over in the process.

Name another job that is responsible for $6.5T and is paid $400k.
Regardless the person in office the salary is not overpaid.
Now the hidden benefits and the fact that they all come out rich is a topic for another day and place.

Avg family doctor/ ER salary is 200-300k . Only specialized Drs make over 500k and the amount of education (cost) and low paid training (opportunity cost) is immense. Most Drs make real money by early to mid 30s then still have 200k+ of debt

Marketers and bankers are pretty high on the list as well.

Basically anything corporate

No longer a banker, but I think there is a caveat. Personal bankers are underpaid. Private Bankers, however, are grossly overpaid...but then again, anything with "whiteglove" service is.

Consultants and Accountants for sure

Thank you. Again, I was from the outside looking in. Very cool that they do all that

Marketing Manager Be Like:

-“Let’s circle back” = I forgot what I promised and hope you did too.
-Thinks rebranding is slapping a gradient on the logo and raising prices.
-Hasn't written a single email without the words “excited,” “innovative,” or “game-changing.”
-Lives in Canva, dies by engagement metrics they don’t actually understand.
-“Data-driven decisions” = they picked the chart with the prettiest colors.
-Presents a quarterly report that’s just screenshots of Instagram posts and vibes.
-Confuses virality with relevance—and thinks 12 likes is a movement.
-Pitches the same strategy every meeting, just rearranged in a different PowerPoint theme.
-Doesn't know yet that consultants are going to their jobs and get paid more to do just for the lulz.

1000% consultants. How to you become an expert worth paying so much when you have no actual experience doing the job and constantly being reassigned to new industries

Young consultants are not sold as experts but smart brains who you can outsource analysis and problem solving to.
Does not mean we’re not overpaid, but it’s an important precision imho :)

Our new social media specialist is using Canva to create posts and forgoing the work created by the design team. I believe if designers are available they should be doing the work of designers—we typically handle these in InDesign. Have not encountered this workflow before so I’m looking to see how others are generating social images these days.

Let’s all agree on some collective self care this week - NO early morning meetings or client deliverables the day after the election. Perhaps we extend these rules this whole week. K? Great. 😅

I’m trying to break my lease. I have notified the management company of my intent to do so in writing. They are just refusing to respond and keep ignoring my follow-up emails. Do I have any recourse? Can they physically bar me from leaving?

Good Afternoon. I have been with my current company for ten months. They quickly realized that I was overqualified for the position I was given. I have been increasingly given more responsibility and even more side projects. I have also been proactive and searching for internal positions that fit my skill set. Can I get suggestions on when would be the opportune time to ask for a raise? Should I wait until my one year anniversary? How should I go about this?

I’ve been a paralegal for about 30 years in private law firmS. As I get older, I feel like it’s time for a semi-career change. Either an office manager position or perhaps a corporate position where I can travel a little since my kids are grown and I’m an empty-nester. Has anyone made this type of transition? Advise welcome.
