I retired a couple years ago after almost three decades in the classroom. Every Friday, in each class period, I did my Friday Dance. We all put our hands in the air and say, “It’s Friday,” ch, ch, ch! The kids live it! A few weeks ago I had back surgery. On of my prior students was my nurse. She came in my room Friday morning and said, “It’s Friday!” Ch, ch, ch. That warmed my heart.

I like to do a review of the week in a game. I switch up the types of games so it doesn't get stagnant too. It's usually something where we can get up and be moving, most of my class is so physical on Fridays in anticipation of the weekend.

My kids work hard to get 20%Time on Fridays, plus they get 10 minutes of game time if they have no missing assignments, bad behavior, or no more than 2 tardies that week.
This isn’t every Friday, more like once a month.. we started doing color wars. The home rooms are divided into 4 different colors. We wear that color on color wars day and have different competitions. The most recent one was a rock paper scissors challenge via a bracket system. The winners from each homeroom competed against each other. The winning color earned a dress down day on the following Monday
