What to wear to first and second day of work? Obviously know to wear a suit first day but firm photo is second day. Wear a suit both days?

Firms usually have a vibe they want on the website photos (some formal, some more approachable), so I’d key off that.

I also haven’t worn a suit outside of interviewing or client meetings in… well… ever, but it depends on the firm/market.

At the firms where i worked, it would’ve been very unusual to wear a suit on the first day (or any day when you don’t have Court). When you went for interviews, what did the attorneys wear? Match that vibe

My first day as a first year over 20 years ago I think I wore a jacket over a dress and took the jacket off. I usually wore a dress or pants and a top every first day after that. I’m not a blazer girl so don’t have any. Like I mentioned, so me, suits are for interviews and client meetings pre pandemic (not needed as much anymore). But it all depends on your practice area, firm, and market.

FTR- I’ve been in NYC Biglaw in CRE finance.
