Applied for a role as a director of sales with a medical company and got past initial screening and interviewed quite well with VP of sales. He stated he will tell recruiter to reach out and set up 2nd interview. Although within holiday week they stated they're looking to fill void asap. Has been over a week and still no email/phone call follow up by company recruiter. Kind of a cause of concern some might say a lil unprofessional to not hear any communication whether nay of yay.

Currently 1-1.5 years out of college, working at a T2 firm doing commercial due diligence work. Have gotten some offers but confused about which one to take:

1. OW PE team, joining in a position higher than at my current firm, basically skipping a year. OWs PE practice as far as I know doesn’t have huge market share
2. McKinseys PE practice but coming in a position lower than where I currently am
3. Stay at my current firm which is experiencing high growth

Why do employers put “Entry Level” and then require a Bachelors degree and 1-5 years of experience? It makes it hard for those of us with 7-10 years of experience to get a position because we don’t have a $150k piece of paper.

Should I take a 20% pay cut to exit tech consulting for a product role at a late stage startup? Medium term goal is MBA, long term goal is PM @ big tech or early startup. Full disclosure I dislike my current role but did not expect to be making this much. Am early in my career.

I'd say yes, since MBA is in the horizon and the pay cut is temporary before post-MBA $$
