Refused to give up. I think I set a record for longest tenure at Senior Manager across multiple Big 4s at around 16 years before finally getting over the hump.

Grind and my mental health improved when I stopped caring about it. Just act like a partner and eventually they will want to bill you out as one. Acting indifferent was key for me

Direct admit at current B4 after raising ranks from consultant to director at 2 other B4.
Same but did a bit a tech vendor once I made Director before heading back to B4.
Defined/created a new capability, built a team, rode the coat tails of wider moves our firm was making, just sorta defaulted into the role.
