Iceland specifically, most places in Europe.
Hit post too soon. As an avid solo traveler I can recommend these for August:
Iceland
Japan
Portugal, Greece, France, Scandinavia (although no AC just like most of Europe)
New Zealand
Canada
A friend of mine works for Delta and has offered me one of his buddy passes to travel with him. He told me I can go anywhere in the world, as long as it wasn't a domestic flight, an all inclusive or a cruise. He's not into the whole tourist thing; he likes to wing it and is extremely spontaneous. We would share a hotel room.
I only can make time for a 5 day international trip in April. (Food truck season starts in early April for me)...I thought London/UK would be a good short trip. Shorter flight from MSP. Any other ideas? Thank you!
You’re a lucky friend! London is always a good option although April might still be quite ‘gray’ and gloomy.
Tropical options breakdown via category (non exhaustive) would include:
1. Beach upscale vine with the BEST sunsets -
• St.Barths
• St.Marteen
• Anguilla
(Consider flying to SM and you can take day trips via ferry to SB and A individually, making it a 3 country in one week option)
2. Soft sand beaches, no care in the world vibe - • Exuma islands in the Bahamas
• Bermuda
3. Combination of water sports, hiking, diving:
• Aruba
• Belize
• Curacao
• Canary Islands or the Azores in Spain
4. Adventure / jungle thrill:
• Jamaica
• Costa Rica
• St. Lucia
5. Unique destination with lifetime bragging rights for a trade off:
• Easter island (Long travel time)
• Greenland (colder weather)
Canada ! Get to Banff and see heaven on earth.
