That's always something that will come along, so you have to keep your eyes out for it. Make sure people understand the original brief, and try to stick to the documentation. Unexpected situations will arise, and trying to manage them can become its own project. Some are unavoidable, and some will be attempts to piggyback something onto a project. Ultimately it just comes down to staying focused on the original mission.

Dealing with this now, and I'm definitely the "yes man." I pretty much just agree and jump on board with whatever is needed, but the struggle comes in when the deadlines aren't extended, yet a project just got twice the size. But I bet you management will be clueless as to why so many of us are burnt out...

One of the team member has applied leaves for continuous 3 days this month. Later she applied for a 15 days leave saying a medical emergency. Both the leaves were rejected from her manager saying connect with HR. though she is on leave without PM leave approval and this is not even prior notice to the team.
