By two weeks, I admit that the job most likely is not happening. It is possible that you are a backup option, if first choice declines the offer.
Depends on the company really. Some tend to move slowly with the hiring process that it may even take a month to hear back. They could still be interviewing other candidates or waiting to hear back from other candidates or they could just be busy and haven't gotten to sending out responses yet. But don't put all your eggs in one basket. Keep applying elsewhere.
It depends on the company, of course. Some of them really take their sweet time. And it seems like some are really slow walking things as they're wary about adding staff in this chaotic economic environment. But after two weeks it's a good chance you're being ghosted. Keep looking elsewhere, that's the best strategy.
As others have said, it depends on the company. However most of them would’ve given you at least a verbal offer by 2 weeks.
