Is it possible to work 1-2 years as a junior associate at a super boutique doing a combination of fraud/abuse and transactional work in the healthcare space and then lateral to biglaw to practice securities law? I’ve bought one Rolex from my AD. I asked for a Sub next and been told I’m a month away from getting it. Having second thoughts and really wanting a datejust instead. Is it bad to tell the AD I’ve changed my mind? Should I just sit tight and get the sub and get the datejust later? Currently a part of the KPMG M&A services team and a recruiter from Goldman’s M&A team reached out. Before I keep going with the conversations, how do the hours and pay compare? What are the growth opportunities of going internal vs consulting?

I manage const for eng companies. Got short video interview, then a job offer @ low end my req. range. Experience: it’s normal to travel for a 2nd interview in person. Result: I see quitting to do this as risky. I asked for more $ than my prior range & explained I prefer we meet in person to see if it’s a fit 1st. Hiring manager wants me and may push for the $ but not the in person meet. Wonder if it could cause me to start there with less trust if they think I abused my position for more $.
