When networking and following up on applications, is it fine to use Apollo.io, find emails, and email hiring managers/recruiters directly first? Or is it better practice to message on LinkedIn first? I don't seem to get many responses on LinkedIn DM (and I only get 15 in mails a month). What's been your experience? I don't personally see a problem with just emailing first, except that it might be flagged as an external sender and go to their spam. Any thoughts?

I have an offer that I was about to sign, but saw that priority dates for filing in EB2 are already at sep 2014 this April. I'm trying to frame my answer to the leadership question. I once talked to my mom about how I was selected as CEO in a group project. It was because of my strong technical skills+connections(I already know 80% of the group)+activeness. My mom said that's exactly what she values in the professional setting.
