It's 4AM ans I'm still working. I'm kinda pissed off with how it has turned out for me so I want a change at all costs. I'm a full stack data scientist with 1.5 years of experience. I kaggle and have pending papers yet to be published. Primarily looking for a job with at least decent and human WLB and salary. Not looking for service companies but open to consulting. Anywhere on earth or remote joh works.

To the Data Scientists out there!

How much would you say is a fair base salary for Entry Level Data Scientist position for a candidate with MS in Applied Econ and proven skills in Python SQL and ML with 0-1 years of DS experience? Mainly in the San Fran / Bay Area . The info on Glassdoor seems high and while I do have a portfolio and will have internship experience before I finish my program, I am still unsure how much I should be asking in terms of salary! Please share your conservative estim

Debating the below two offers - your thoughts?Im currently a SC with 4 YOE.
1. A top hedge fund, data scientist, relatively new team, same industry and knowledge domain with what I’m currently doing at D. Doesn’t manage people. Flat org and slow promotion.
2. A luxury consumer products company which owns many brand names. Manager, lead the data science driven innovation / optimization from supply chain to marketing. Manage people. Comp is about ~50k less than the hedge fund offer.

Goal is to end up in tech but am interviewing for a fortune 50 healthcare company for a data scientist role. Struck out on other interviews.

Would it be worth it to jump to this if I want to break into data science or should I stick it out in Analytics consulting which really isn’t data science?

Senior at EY. Just got an offer at Deloitte for Senior Consultant. 25% increase in base with a 20k sign on bonus. I'm happy with the base but wondering, am I leaving anything on the table with the sign on bonus? I am a data scientist (highly in demand) and 20k at the SC level feels ... well, like there's room for negotiation.

I'll ask for more, but what should I target? 30? 35? 50?

I’m a data scientist getting around 160k total comp at a big 4 consulting firm, with 150k base.

A FAANG is offering me 188.5k total (135k base + 40k stocks + 13.5k bonus).

The FAANG is a much better name especially in my field, but I feel like the base comp is significantly lower?

Hi all, got an offer for data scientist kind of position at a boutique management consulting firm that competes with MBB(at least what they claims), 3 YOE, base salary is over $90k, bonus range from 9%-15%, so total comp is at least $100k, 20 days annual leave. The office is in NYC but they let me live anywhere I want even after COVID.
This is a better offer than what I have now, just wondering if they are offering me the market value?

I have been offered the position of Data Scientist at UBS. I would like to know how is UBS as a company? In terms of work life balance, career growth, learning opportunities etc. Should I consider their offer?

P. S I'm also evaluating a couple of offers from early and mid size startups. Compensation for all three is in the same range.

I'm a data scientist interested in tech, ai/ml, and data science for social good, public sector issues, and etc. Comp is a high priority along with WLB and prestige/exit ops. What companies should I consider?

I have been doing research on companies that meet my criteria. AWS (which has a significant public sector practice and does ml consulting work) tops my list. Palantir is on it too, but it doesn't focus on AI/ML. Aside from that, seems like there are slim pickings. So Im looking for input!
