Why on earth do so many job portals make you manually re-enter your entire resume after you already uploaded it? I just had to type out my whole work history again because the software couldn't parse my document. What's the actual point of the upload button if we have to do double the work?

because half the time the upload button is basically just a placebo lol. i’ve had portals mangle dates, split one job into three, or turn a normal bullet into soup, then you end up retyping the whole thing anyway.

i keep a super plain .docx version around now, no tables, no icons, no weird spacing, just so the system has less to choke on. lately i’ve also been using ResumeJudge before applying, just to catch formatting stuff that makes parsers act up.

does yours at least let you paste the text instead of forcing every single field? some of those workday / taleo forms are especially bad about dropping one old employer if the dates overlap by even a month.
