Wow, sounds like the person giving that review needed to have a review of their own. That's a sign of someone just phoning it in, reading off the form and not even trying to make it seem personal. I remember a performance review where the employee was arguing against every point, and in a funny way I was becoming sympathetic to their side.
I had the same thought – if a manager cannot even look at the person during a review, it says everything about their leadership. Reviews should be a conversation, not a script being read aloud.
I once had a manager copy-paste my peer’s review into mine, with their name still in it. It was obvious they hadn’t read it, and it was hard to take that kind of feedback seriously.
I cannot believe they left another employee’s name in your review. That is beyond careless. It makes you feel like all your hard work is invisible when they clearly just hit copy-paste.
