Would you rather have a female boss in finance? Why or why not? I’ve had both male and female bosses, and while some were great and some weren’t, I have noticed a difference. My female bosses seemed more aware of the extra hurdles women face, but at the same time, I’ve also had women bosses who were extra tough, almost like they had to prove they weren’t playing favorites. Do you think having a female boss in finance makes a difference? Have you had a better experience with one over the other?

I’ve worked with both, and I’ve definitely noticed differences. Female bosses in finance tend to be more empathetic to the challenges women face, but like you said, some overcompensate to avoid being seen as too soft. It’s all about balance! I think the best boss (male or female) sees and supports you. What’s your take?

No strong opinions either way honestly. Have had maybe one female boss that was a “build up everyone” type of person. A lot of the others (male or female) either need to feel like they are putting you down to climb over or just don’t care. Really is a case by case basis, as it should be really.

I don’t think it really matters whether a boss is male or female. It’s more about the type of person they are. A good boss is someone who supports your growth, values your contributions, and creates a fair and respectful work environment. Gender doesn’t determine that.

I have joined Sunlife yesterday. I was having offer from Capgemini as well but decided to join Sunlife.

I am settled in Bangalore and cannot relocate to Gurgaon. Sunlife HR provided me remote work option.

Now I am not sure that was fair decision for me or not.
