Iran is now requiring ships that pass through the straight of Hormuz to pay their $2m/crossing tolls in Bitcoin

Note that Tether, while more stable, is freezable at the request of the US government which is why it makes sense for them to be requesting Bitcoin for these transactions

SEC Chair Paul Atkins:

“...issuers that want to tokenize their securities could work with a transfer agent or other tokenization agency to tokenize their securities so that they can be traded onchain in AMMs or other trading systems, environments or platforms that offer decentralized liquidity.”

This means they're trying to make it so you can trade stocks, bonds, commodities, etc on defi using self hosted wallets, automated market makers, etc and the SEC chair supports this
