Hello Sharks, noon here. Looking for some interview insights for Equity research positions at SVB, Cowen, Jefferies and co. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I interviewed a company (the final round: meeting team members) two weeks ago and I think it went very well, but just now I noticed that they post the same role but with different requirements on Linkedin , so does this mean I failed? or they are just trying to reach more candidates?
I interviewed for a role at BlackRock three weeks ago and got a call from the recruiter a week later saying they liked me and wanted to move forward with an offer. I haven't heard anything since... Does it usually take this long?
Anyone worked with a recruiter after being “head hunted” via LinkedIn. This recruiter calls me prior to each interview to give me tips and we speak after to debrief. So far he’s been helpful and seems genuinely invested in getting me into this position, as long as I want it. Trying to figure out if I should actually trust him though since obviously they’re contracted by the company. Any red flags to look out for?
Been in my current role for like 7 months, but a role I’ve always been interested in my old company came up and I think I’d have a good shot, but I don’t want to leave my current role for another year. I want to apply to create the relationship with the team for next year (but wouldn’t join regardless of interview outcome), is this a bad idea? Would I potentially burn bridges with the interviewers?

Question for Private Wealth Mangers, I have my s65 and 66. My company won’t pay for my s7 and I want it to do more then just financial planning. I’m worried companies won’t take me seriously if I start applying elsewhere and I don’t have my s7. Any help / advice would be appreciated!
Had an interview for a wire transfer analyst. The recruiter asked my salary range. I said $75k - $80k he said it was too high the position is for $65k but since I have experience he would send it to the hiring manager to see. I got called for my final view next week. I live in NJ what should the lowest I ask for? I have 4 yoe in retail banking.
What is normal for a recruiter to ask you? I'm talked to one for the today who's already called me three times. She also was passive aggressive with me not responding to her email, when I told her I had another interview before then before she made that comment. She also asked for the names of the companies I'm going on second and third rounds with - is that normal?
She's a recruiter for a firm so she's sending me positions at different companies.
Is it common for it to take 2 weeks to receive a written offer after accepting a verbal offer? I stalled my other interviews in flight because this was a great opp, but realize that may have been a rookie mistake. Morgan Stanley specifically.
I interviewed with Citi's internal audit last week and they said after the interview was over I would hear back next week. So far, crickets. I kind of need a job right now. The jobs site still says "business review" as far as application status goes.
Wire transfer analyst please share your pay. I’m interviewing for a position tomorrow what to know the pay being offered is good. Please share you salary, YOE, and state you live in

Has anyone worked at Pretium Partners? I was wondering what the salary was like there. I am having my 3rd round interview but there are no salary discussions yet. This is for an analyst/associate with their valuation department.
Extremely toxic work environment & interviewing for other jobs. Would you 1) risk being fired (unsure when) or 2) quit/give notice and risk not having an offer fast enough? My finance is set and I’m primarily concerned about professional reputation. Somewhat unsure what to say to interviewers with whom I already started the process, though the real reason is role is nothing like advertised worsened by diff personalities… What would you do?
Can anyone give me a rundown on Silicon Valley Bank, have an interview the company this week, what’s the culture like? Pros? Cons? Because Glassdoor is all over the place. Thanks!

Been trying to break into climate tech startups (I originally wanted to be in IB but we know how that goes) for quite some time... I Received an offer at BofA as a senior auditor, which is even further from my career goals, but it pays about double what I make now. Should I take it or keep applying to jobs? Having 1-2 years of BofA on the resume would help me for the next job and I could really use the salary bump, but I’ll miss being fully remote and audit sounds miserable
Silicon Valley Bank - anyone know how their interview process is? Do they follow any methods like STAR?

My interview at Barclays was on 22nd July (coming up for 8 weeks ago now!) and I still haven’t received any feedback regarding my interview. Due to the length of time it’s taken to hear back, I’ve just assumed I’ve not got the job and have started applying for other roles elsewhere. I’ve been told on 2 separate occasions that the hiring team will be in touch within 2 working days but I’ve still received nothing.
Can anyone comment on the Barclays hiring timeframe?
Anybody here work at Wealthspire Advisors? Any interview tips? Also, why do you enjoy working there?
How f*cked Am I?
Interview for FA intern: Was knocking it out of the park. But they asked me a diversity question I was not prepared for: Told me to tell them about a time that i didn’t agree with someone and still listened. Military Exp: Told them about a gay soldier that came up to me that they felt uncomfortable and wasn’t sure if they should let anyone know and i told them that they should come to work as themselves. I did clarify i said for clarity i disagree with them not being themselves.

If someone has an idea about the case study then please let me know. I want to prepare well for this interview so would appreciate your experience and guidance.
What’s the fastest you have received a rejection after an interview? Mine was an email from HR within 5 minutes of interviewing ending with an MD 😟
Is Deloitte (UK) in a hiring freeze currently? I applied and interviewed for a Consultant role in GPS in august and received verbal but have been waiting on approvals ever since to give a formal offer. Both internal and external recruiters are very positive still and chasing up citing delays caused by extra scrutiny but very confident it will get through but not sure what to think
Interviewing at Oliver Wyman and a little freaked out at the WLB. Have gotten very conflicting information on hours with someone saying 9-6 vs another saying 50-80 hours a week. Can someone provide some insight into FS and the general feel?
Any tips for a first round phone screen interview with Goldman Sachs ? Position is Associate Digital Product Manager in their Transaction banking space
How bad it is to apply to a job shortly after you got into a new one? Like a few months. Do people honestly care about this?
I got into a job here at D thinking I would be figuring out solutions for the client's problem, but when the work gets to me it's 100% already decided what's to be done since I'm so junior. So I thought of applying to a strategy role here, thinking it might suit me better, but ran into this problem.
Have an interview coming up with Amex for project management roles. Recruiter said they are considering me for multiple open roles? Can anyone give me some insight into this? There’s a behavioral and American Express technical interview
Gaaah I got a call for an interview! 🙌 Microsoft 🐠 - anyone know what the base / salary for an Account Technology Specialist is? Are there different levels? I’m at a T2 strategy firm with 6 YOE so a bit worried the base will be a lot lower than my current.

I finished a Phone interview with the Hiring manager and a whole day of video interviews with the director, engineering manager and some Sr. Product Managers. I thought this was the last round.
The recruiter emailed me saying I have a last phone interview with the peer director of the director who interviewed me.
Any insight on what to expect ? I have another offer on hold

Any resources you people would recommend on getting prepped for consulting interviews and generally learning about the nature of the field?
I've applied to several positions, simply because the job descriptions (analytical thinker, blah blah) sounded suitable matches for me, but I'm still quite new in the area and would like to learn things properly.
Any books, courses, websites, certificates, etc?
Interviewed (1st round) at EY for an SC role (40% higher pay). Didn’t know SC was the same as C for Deloitte. Up for SC at Deloitte this summer - any room for negotiation with EY for M instead? Contd
What’s up with PwC interviewing me (4, 45 minutes interviews) for a Director level role. Seems to have gone well based on partner feedback during final interview. 2 weeks later no update from recruiter, I emailed her a week ago. Nothing at all.
Just joined a new company and I keep tripping on red flags. The manager I was expecting to work under and be mentored by quit right before I started. They’re very disorganized. College hires are running projects due to top talent leaving. Onboarding was horrible, they don’t provide IT equipment beyond a laptop. I’m already applying for new roles, but this is also a breakout role for me with more responsibilities and higher comp. Deciding if I should try to stick it out to anchor at this level.
My partner and I will be moving across the country for my job, and he’s able to remain at his company from the new city. What are the conversations we need to be having to reduce resentment, friction, and ultimately make sure that we’re both getting what we need from the relationship, and In the rest of our lives?
Hey friends! So I left PwC (risk assurance, did a bit of consulting) about 4 years ago for industry, and have been working in supply chain ever since for a major retailer. Recently, a recruiter from Protiviti reached out to talk to me about open roles in supply chain consulting, and I’m trying to decide if this would be a good move or not. I know it wouldn’t be quite the same as the hours as big 4, but I don’t know enough to be sure if it’s the right fit. Any advice?
I am new to this platform and was wondering ,are job referrals country/continent specific for consulting jobs? Or do most companies allow any global employee to refer?
