Initial phone conversation with recruiter and she said base salary can be up to $145k but it might be hard to push above that. I’m targeting $160k base. How to make that happen? Possible?

Possible to recuperate withdrawn taxes from your sign on bonus? I.e. my sign on was 20K and I got 12K post tax, can I get all or a part of the 8K back? If so, how much?

Possible project that would mean a temporary 30% pay cut but get to move to Europe for a year-long assignment. Salary goes back to old salary + raise after project. How many of you would take it?

I honestly like my work, the people, the experience, etc; 5th year. But, it's annoying how we need to 'play the game' to maintain competitive comp. Any suggestions? Possible to avoiding jumping ship?
