I would strongly advise against going to a local firm as a staff/senior level auditor (I worked in one for 2 years)
You are making yourself less marketable since most local firms don’t really give you great exposure in audit. The work is usually compilations, reviews, and accounting services for simple non-complex clients and maybe a few audits
I would say go to industry for WLB/money or Big 4 if you want to continue learning and gaining exposure (happy to refer!)
Local firms are only good if you see yourself becoming a partner there
I would go to another mid size or big 4. Happy to refer.
If you want more money you can come to big 4,if you want better WLB you can go to industry.
If you want B4 I can refer
Another mid tier or big 4. If you want mid I can refer
Came from local cpa firms, and I would tell you not to go unless you are ready to retire.
Jump to other mid size or big four will get you a good raise and better exposure.
Get the senior title. Seems like maybe one more busy season and you’re there
Then I’d consider moving to advisory. Either technical accounting or FDD. Pay is better if that’s what you’re looking for
Or get the b4 experience which would open more doors
