Hi folks, It's been 22 days since I joined birlasoft. But still I have not been mapped to any project and in induction I have been told this hiring is done based on an already existing requirement. Is it common to not get mapped after these many days of joining? Please share your experience!!! Birlasoft
Will I receive variable pay for the period I am bench?

My situation flips this a little on end. My dad was an engineer and an executive. He wasn’t usually home for dinner but I did get to see him most nights before I went to bed. The challenge for me was that for him to advance in his career we had to move every 4 years. I hated that and wanted something different for my kids. I travel but they have lived in the same home their entire life. I am with them 4 nights a week vs 7 and I make the time I am with them count.
^^ I see that as a major benefit as well. To move up in a lot of industries, it seems like moving around would be necessary
I went part time when kids were young, travel a lot but seem to have a great relationship w high school kids. Not always a 1:1 on nights Home vs moments, laughter and support. We work a ton! But love the ramp up down sideways that we get ... unique and haven’t missed much over the years.
My father traveled A LOT both domestically and internationally. We’d talk to him once a week while he was gone for 2-3 weeks overseas (remember the talk...wait...talk thing you used to have to do with overseas long distance calls?). We didn’t know anything different so I think we assumed it was normal
And do you also have kids?
Similar to P1. He would be gone for long stretches to exotic places like South Korea and Brazil. Not the weekly grind but gone 2-3 weeks every other month or so
