Hi All. I have offers from MobiKwik and Target for the role of Data Engineer.
Which organisation should I go fo?r. Please consider factors like job security, work quality and learning, WL balance and office culture.
They're both offering similar CTC and location is preferable in case of MobiKwik. My YoE is 3.
Do it, I dare you. 😑

I'm at a small boutique that's like 20 people. Honestly, it's pretty fantastic. the pros are
- good partner exposure,
-;absurd pay ($200k 2nd year out of college, $300k this year if it were not for covid)
- interesting domain area (only our niche), really good perks (200% 401k match)
- good coworkers.
- flexible working hours
- flexible travel (pre covid)
- unlimited expense account (1st/busienss over 3 hours. I think bcg has us beat though)
- good culture (basically 4 weeks pto and we are pressured to travel/take time off)
To all of the "but mbb only does the good projects" crowd - I've done 8 projects with mck or Bain including one now. Our clients are top tier and are diverse (pe, strategic, hedge funds, etc)
The biggest cons are:
- lack of brand for MBA/exits
- hard to exit anywhere else and keep comp stable
- you have to be a self starter about everything
- no IT
- wlb can suffer when we get busy
Got it, that makes a ton of sense. Thanks for the detailed response.
Might not be a great move in a recession. They likely have 2-3 big clients or a handful more small ones and if they lose a contract you’ll feel the impact pretty quickly

Can you name a few of the smaller boutique ones? I’d be interested to see what it’s like too
I went from very small (<50 staff) to very large (Booz). Pros and cons to both sizes. Honestly didn't mind small all that much but few opps for promotion.
