HR/LEGAL HELP: I work for a multi-state remote employer. I am doing a classification study of sorts and believe that we may have to reclassify some positions. The impact is moving exempt and salaried positions to non-exempt. This has caused us to consider what states we are/should be hiring from. Any issues with excluding candidates from certain states that may have more stringent pay laws? Appreciate your help!

Hi, I have a question in regard of applying for an internal positions within the company. I been here for 6 months and found another opportunity that I am very interested in that was just posted. I have an interview with HR but it states that if it goes to the hiring manager, it will notified my manager.
Should I tell my manager now or just until it notified my manager? I would feel stupid if the hiring manager didn't pick me

Is someone winking at you at work considered normal? I take it as it’s their personality or they’re just friendly. Happened twice with 2 people, once with a guy from my firm and the second time… the CEO (male) of the client I was working with - I’ve not even spoken to him beyond just introducing myself, but we crossed paths in the corridor at client office and he said something like “have a good day” and winked. For context I am a female at the most junior level. I might just be overthinking it.

With the unknowns throughout the pandemic, I am dealing with people at work all with differing opinions on the workplace who all feel their opinions are equally valid. Some days I feel like my title should be changed to VP of Cat Herding. I can’t even get a Does anyone else feel that way? What’s more, as complicated and difficult as the past 12 months have been, I think the next few months are going to get increasingly complicated. I’d love to hear how others are handling the stress.

I’m pending an offer from Visa Inc for a Senior Director role and want to know some guardrails. The recruiter informed me in our very first call that Visa “doesn’t pay cash to bring people on” and alluded to not offering a sign on bonus or RSUs. How do you manage keeping track of and responding to teams chats and emails in a timely manner? I have a hard time addressing chats when I am focused on something else, because I know it will completely derail me. But then I forgot to circle back to the chat when I’m done and I’ve recently been told that my response time is unacceptable and needs to improve, but I’m truly unsure how to improve.
