I work for a portco and only C level has equity afaik
I think 250k base comp (including cash bonus) is reasonable. However,for a CXO position “equity” is issued at the portco level and is not true equity but an incentive plan that kicks in at some hurdle which usually starts at 1.5x or 2.0x in that investment. Not carry in the fund.
This guarantees that the GPs will get paid back before any other equity, and then anyone who directly adds value to the portco (I.e management team).
