Evanston can be pretty pompous, well the whole north shore is pretty full of itself. But they do have the original Sarkis cafe up there and I’m quite smitten with bacon lorettas.

But even without Sarkis and how boujie Evanston is, I’d still take Evanston over Oak Park.

funny

Evanston for me. Closer to the water!

They're both so similar to be honest. I live just south of Evanston in Rogers Park but I cover Oak Park for work. Id prefer Evanston due to its proximity to the lakefront but i hear the taxes are outrageous

Do you think all these violent and hate filled attacks are because people aren't getting the emotional/mental support they need, whether it's therapy at any age or help they needed but didn't get from a social worker as a child? My coworker is sure this is the case, but I honestly think there's actually something deeper wrong either with how these people are being raised as children, or how the warning signs these people give off are ignored or swept under the rug to save face.

Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?

Found a random engagement ring.

Hi all, so I found a platinum ring (which I assumed it's an engagement ring as it has dates and initials engraved on top.) And a Divvy tag (I have no idea what it was until I googled it. Apparently it's a bike sharing service in Chicago) in a briefcase I ordered online. I was thinking of returning the item back to the store but that wouldn't help the person who lost the ring. Attached is a picture of them.

What should I do now?

Are there any well-off suburbs around Chicago where there's a significant amount of black or mixed race people? Significant meaning 40-50%+. I've seen a lot of nice black suburbs in southern and eastern cities but less in the midwest. In an interracial relationship and want to get an idea if there are any suburbs where our kids would feel represented or if we'll need to move down south for that.

I am looking for a 5-7 year commercial lease in zip code 60654, to commence in August or September 2023.

About 3000-3500 of space, consisting of one big space about 1,200 SQ ft, two smaller rooms, and a couple small offices. Being ADA compliant is important.

I love to work directly with the landlord if possible.

If you know of any availability ease let me know.
