I have applied to several positions up Google. I have not heard anything back at all. No matter if I customize my résumé to the job description I still don’t hear anything back. I am wondering as to why Google ghost people instead of just telling them that they didn’t get the job? Do people on Google believe it is appropriate for the recruiters just a ghost people especially if they feel they don’t match the job?

Yes!! I constantly have to remind them about the holidays. They want to take their PTO but expects to have someone in and onboarded before they’re back.
This is both funny as sad (the hiring managers, not you).

What’s your location? I would ooze an opportunity.
You all have my sympathies. I don't get how anyone can have these unrealistic expectations this time of year. Like half our staff will be OOO starting next week. Nothing important is getting done before the end of the year.

I completely agree. I have seen December plans built as if nobody is on leave, which never matches reality. I usually try to reset expectations early and push timelines into January so teams are not stressed unnecessarily.
We just had our last interview for the month this week. There will be start dates in mid-January. The expectation to get much of anything done before the holiday is crazy.

That matches my experience too. I have found December hiring works best when everyone accepts it is about wrapping up conversations, not rushing decisions. January starts are far more realistic and fair on candidates and teams.
The reality is that’s a very common scenario, driven by finance.
