A potential opportunity has come up to work as a freelance M&A consultant. I’d be doing everything a firm would on the sell side but as a solo independent. From a legal / risk / regulatory perspective, is there anything I need to consider other than the usual things freelance consultants need like professional indemnity insurance, etc? If relevant it will be a full sale but could be split across multiple investors. UK based.

How long does your firm wait to tell you your compensation after a promotion?

Promotions went out Jan 3 and compensation will be revealed late Feb. Is this typical?

Switching team internally competing with external candidates. was asking a promotion for next grade midpoint but was ok to accept >=50% hike which i told hiring manager before the process start itself which he said will consider if I'm the one selected.

Attended 5 rounds-- 1 coding, 2 technical, 1 managerial, 1 hr. Now after 2 months telling me I'm the selected one, but offering me just 20% hike and same grade
