IB has a lot more potential in the long run. That's what I would go with, personally.
If you wanna work at a hedge fund or do asset management / become a PM some day. Do equity research.
IB in USD is 105k base but that’s really 132k CAD. More diverse exit ops for IB.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking short term. Look on LinkedIn at where the people in these groups end up in their career a few years down the road and factor that into your decision

I agree with VP1, it’s easier to go IB ER than the other way around. It does depend on what you want to do in the long run, what’s your YOE?
I usually shoot for the bigger base salary. I don't want to depend on the whims of bosses once I'm there.
I’m in IB in Toronto and have worked in ER as well (also in Toronto). Feel free to message me, I can try to give you some context offline
Moved from ER to IB. ER is a dying industry and I would recommend against it as a long term career. If you want to be at a buy side long only shop then sure.
