Deloitte expressly forbids it. Needs a board vote. Pretty much impossible
Ey forbids it too. It was abused in the past (friends of the board were kept on as contractors past age 60) so now it’s not allowed. In rare circumstances it can be approved for one year only (eg audit rotation transition)
If anyone has done it I’d appreciate your advice!
Not a retired partner but I worked with one that brought an engagement to us. There was a very limited amount of work he could do if engaged by the firm before impacting his pension, so he ended up being engaged by the client directly and we had a separate contract to support him. The amount was small enough to not make it worth it.
