Anyone else find that they don’t wear their favorite things in their closet because they are subconsciously afraid of wearing out those items? I am struggling to get past this and can’t figure out why it is so hard for me to wear the things I like most.

I do the same with a lot of sweaters for some reason. The one thing that has helped me enjoy my “special items” more is to take it to the dry cleaners to be cleaned. Even if it’s a J crew clearance sweater, I send my favorite items I don’t want to mess up to the dry cleaner to be properly taken care of and that’s definitely keeping the life longer on some of my clothes.

I feel this way about some items. “Don’t want to wear those jeans shorts cause I know they’ll stretch and I want to wear them in a few days for x” or “I’m going to lounge on the couch so I won’t wear the cozy sweater cause it’ll stretch or pill” etc
I don’t like thinking about my clothes this much but despite spending more money on clothes recently they still get damaged so easily. I also have kids so I don’t wear my favorite t shirts etc around them cause I am often a human tissue and napkin

I wear a sheer plastic poncho which is the wearable equivalent of plastic on your grandma’s nice sofa.

Wear them and enjoy your life!

Yes,but only after I learnt the hard way! My newborn decided to spit on my Hermes scarf. And I still did not learn the lesson! It was only when I finally spotted my toddler trying to use his crayons on my channel that made me hide all my stuff in garage... now I wear old navy till the kids are little bit more manageable. No, I am kidding. I still take out my special clothes for days when I go out alone which are maybe like 2 a year...

I’m a newly graduate from a community college. My program of study was Health Information Technician. I passed my RHIT exam a month ago, and I’ve been applying to jobs in state, out of state, and remotely to only receive “sorry you were not selected email.”I don’t have experience and I know that’s the reason I’m not getting selected. I’ve applied for receptionist, medical biller/coordinator, and medical clerk. Even with inflation willing to work for minimum wage or less just to gain experience.
