Booking an international flight, and I'm considering getting business class tickets, but damn they're expensive. Worth the price tag?

No. Give me a break, lack of a little sleep is not worth a multiple of the base fare unless your are a high roller IMO.

like

Completely agree with Associate 2. For a long international flight this costs ~2k extra or more. That's a decent suit that you could wear for years vs 30 hours of being slightly more comfortable. Or a couple pairs of shoes or whatever else you're into.

like

If you're paying it, no not worth it, just bump up to an exit row and stretch your legs. If your firm is paying for it, very worth it.

like

Eh. Try like $5k more expensive. But yes. I literally would rather buy a table at lavo vs dropping anything above an extra 1k for biz

like

I mean...how much of a princess are you that you can't sleep in economy? You're chilling in comfortable clothes on a larger intl plane...

like

Don't think it's worth it at all. A few hours of comfort...rather buy something for a few gs

like

Personally, I am about the experience. You can accumulate things forever, you don't get time back. First time I went to Europe for vacay, I waited until a week before the flight to see if the cost of the business class upgrade came down, and it did so I bought them. Best flight ever and no jet lag, made my trip that much more enjoyable because I was well rested. With this job, time and energy is worth money and if it is for vacation, then it is worth it because I can't sleep in economy or economy plus for shit. Don't want to ruin a day or two of my vacation over a bit more money. If the trip is for work, not worth it.

like

Fly enough and you get global upgrades. Stay loyal to one airline most preferably United. I wouldn't pay for business...only make clients and so on pay for you

like

You're better off upgrading at the gate if you'd really want to fly business (way cheaper)

like

^not worth it still. Wouldn't you rather just save all those points for another (economy) flight? I haven't paid for a flight out of pocket in years

like

@As4 that sounds like a great way to also ruin your credit

like

How long is the flight?

like

I'm tall but can sleep just fine in coach. Not worth it to me, even on intercontinental non-stops. That said, if the price was right and it was at least a 7 hour flight, I'd jump at it.

like

Only and only if it's Emirates. Trust me on this...

like

Going to SE Asia. Emirates is an option, but the price is high.

like

Try economy comfort if available, the seats are not that much more expensive but so much better than economy

like

No. You can be slightly more uncomfortable for a few hours instead of spending thousands of dollars unnecessarily. I think business/first class is one of the worst ways to spend your money. plus, if you fly regularly enough anyways and accumulate points, you can use them for a first class flight if you REALLY need it

like

If going long haul Emirates and Singapore only way to go. If going through Dubai Emirates only way to go. Have flown Emirates a lot. Worth the $$$.
