ACN has a hook up with Cultural Au Pair. We decided against one for the time being because of change to life style but may go for one after second
We use cultural care. There are only a handful of agencies licensed by state department so look for that. I can’t speak to other agencies but we’ve found after 4 au pairs that it matters more how much you interview them and how well you know what you are looking for. Best advice I can give is don’t avoid any red flags
What’s ACN
ACN is Accenture. Your company may have a connection with an Au Pair agency too. I've heard both great things and horror stories. Just be careful who you bring into your home
Yeah we are on the lookout for an aupair
We’ve had five au pairs. 4 good to awesome, one didn’t work out, nothing dramatic, just didn’t work out. Other posters are right. Trust your instincts. Just because you can’t explain why you think it might not work with a particular individual, doesn’t mean you should give it a try to find out.
Oh yeah, we used cultural care. Seemed to have a stronger support system for the au pairs once they arrived. Monthly meetings, designated “local care coordinator.” Helps for your au pairs to have a crowd to relate with upon arrival. Speeds up the part when she (or he) makes friends and stops hanging around your house all the time.
