What’s a good way to learn about investing and how to build a decent investment portfolio? I max out my 401k & have some rental properties. Have 100k in a high-int acct I don’t know what to do with
Tired of the whining abt cell reimbursement. When was the last time work was the legit majority of your phone bill? Change your plan, get on wifi, stop expecting work to pay for Fishbowl and Tinder.
Going up for promotion next year. Will it impact me to be on maternity leave for the last 2 months of the performance period or will the rest of the year speak for itself? To wait, or not to wait?!?
I am reviewing a benefits package for a potential employer and it states “Employees are 100% vested upon enrollment”. Does this mean the ER match is vested as well and i dont need to wait 2-3 years?
Pros and cons of rolling over 401k from old employer to an IRA vs new employers plan? Other than the usual limitations in options etc.? Considering moving it to something like schwab IRA
I thought at 100k I’d feel like I could max 401K, rent AND feel comfortable with savings but it seems like that really won’t happen till 200k. Anyone agree?
Client needed insurance as part of FP we did in Jan. Has dodged all calls and emails since then and refused to do med exam. Emailed just now to ask how he's doing and to review his work benefits...
I heard that the big accounting firms are using covid as an excuse to cut benefits despite some firms actually growing during covid. Is this true? If its true thats kinda sad theyre using covid as excuse to increase profitability at the expense of employees. Seems like a pretty obvious lie.
Going back to work in a couple weeks after being on maternity leave. Already sad and upset at the thought of leaving my little one. How do you cope those first days and weeks back to work?
I read this super interesting article about how big companies like Toyota are investing in social-emotional training for their employees and seeing massive benefits. I actually think this could be a whole separate class for students of all ages. Learning about conflict resolution, growing your own self-regulation skills...it's really important.
Got a very generous reimbursement amount for moving expenses and wanna make sure I use as much as I can. What items /services have you gotten away with expensing on a move?
Pros/cons/ first hand experience of planning a pregnancy during busy season versus planning one outside of busy season? It’s tempting to reap the benefits of being on maternity leave during busy season but nervous of the impact it may have on my career progression. Currently going into my S3 year and would be on track to be promoted to manager the following year (first Mgr busy season would be 2022). We are looking to start having kids in the next couple years. Thanks!!
How much debt do you have? Everyone always asks 401k and retirement balances. Let’s change it up! I’ll start - $1.4MM. 🤭
Question for experienced Media folks: Which market has more opportunities/Benefits to learn and grow? NYC, ATL, CHI, LA, and SF? Rank 1-5, 1 as in best
Just wondering how many people here have already received their kellogg interview invite? I'm in SF and selected off-campus, but haven't heard anything yet. I know almost everyone is interviewed but getting some anxiety about it!
An Uber driver picked me up and said, “I almost didn’t pick you up because of your low score.” It’s 4.72. We then had a long discussion about what makes drivers rate low - and it was eye opening.
2 year Advisory experience in performance improvement. MBA from top 20. What's the best way to try to break into MBB?
Got letter in the mail saying that I can elect lump sum payment of about 10k for a pension payout for a job I had 8 years ago. Do I rollover or just take the 10k and pay the 30% fed tax + penalty tax?
TFW you have an unexpected deadline the last week of June and you don't want to work late anymore because you've been in busy season since January.
6 months ago I made it to the final round with Deloitte and was told they were considering me for M when I was told SM throughout the process. I said I was not interested in M and received a thanks for applying before I even got on my plane home. Did I fail the interview or was it leveling and could I reapply? No one will tell me anything from D.
If your manager said to you - the work we do compared to other work streams is highly political, what's your take? Background story - another manager of my project told me to ease up on an initiative
What is the salary bump from M to SM in EY-OTS group? Is it a fixed $ or on a % basis and does it matter if you are already on high end of the M band?
Single subject Master's (fin) from IU (Kelley, 3.8 GPA); Healthcare M&A/strategy background. No plans to switch firms but out of complete curiosity wondering if thats enough "prestige" for MBB?
I’ve been job hunting for a while and can’t seem to get any job offers or interviews. I know the job market isn’t great in the area, but it’s so disheartening.
EY and KPMG .. Federal practice at both.. what are working hours (45 ?).. which has better work culture and work life balance
For Big4 government consultants, are the case interviews similar to that of commercial consulting opportunities? If not, what are the nuances/differences with the case interview process? I have a case interview coming up for a government consulting opportunity, so any input would be much appreciated!
Defending my first Medical Expert deposition. I’ve done hundreds of regular depositions, but this is my first expert. Any tips / advise would be really appreciated. Thank you!!
