At our school, the teachers are divided in teams (ie-6th Grade, 7th Grade, Specials, etc). A couple of the teachers on one team will not follow the expectations of admin. Even with getting fussed at, specific details being pointed out, and comments made at staff meeting. This makes the team the center of attention as rebels and eye rolls when the team is discussed for any reason. What are your suggestions for getting everyone on board to meet expectations?

If you are Admin looking for advice I would bust that team up faster than a knife fight in a phone booth... toxic breeds toxic. The whole school culture is being affected by their attitudes and behaviors. If it is allowed to continue you are communicating to your faculty that it is acceptable. This is really frustrating to watch from my humble little teacher perspective.

Well, my dear, as a former team lead, you need admin to take the lead on this. If your coaching isn't helping and they are consistently choosing not to meet expectations, then there should be consequences, and it isn't your job to do that.

If it is not your team then don’t stress about it. You have enough to worry about. If it is your team maybe ask admin to sit it on your team meetings on occasion. Then start a discussion about the things that everyone is not following. See how admin reacts. I know it affects you and I know it affects the kids but this is an admin issue. It is insubordination. Good luck!

That’s unfortunate for you. It sounds like you’re someone who makes an effort to bring everyone together. I’m sorry that you’re going through this, but I’ve got nothing. I’m kinda obsessing about my own issues at work. Trust me on this, the other staff also is aware of who the ‘trouble makers’ are and who’s a team player.

I'm getting my brother autographed Panthers memorabilia for christmas, but I'm the gay son in the family who knows nothing about football... So we've got someone named D.J. Moore, another named Terrance Marshall Jr., Luke Kuechly, and Robbie Anderson. None of these names are doing anything for me, nor do any of the stats mean anything to me when I look up their names on Google. Do any of these names ring a bell to you, and which ones would be the coolest for a signed helmet/jersey?
