Energyogre takes care of comparison shopping and switching my electricity providers just in time over the years .. that is another choice you can look at
Me 2 .. life happens and most years I realize the contract ended after some weeks of it ending, then start the comparison shopping and shifting .. eventually realized energyogre is the way for me
Ditto on Powertochoose to find plans. I’ve used a bunch of providers. Your retail provider really has no impact on power reliability, just billing issues. Oncor operates all our DFW transmission lines.
I’ve never gotten a favorable renewal offer, so I just switch plans whenever the contract expires. Be careful of the quoted 500kwh price or many gimmicky promos. For many plans, you get a rebate if usage is between 500 and 1000. If it’s <500, your effective rate is very high.
On the apartment’s “recommended” plan, it’s all nonsense. There’s a revenue share. Just go with the cheapest.
Cirro Energy for electricity.
If your area has it available, AT&T fiber. I know google announced that Dallas would get fiber but since the announcement I have not heard any updates on this
Internet, I have Infuse
Google stopped their initiative .. Frontier is only choice for river in some areas of Dfw
We literally only have AT&T for whatever the highest speed internet is (my wife handles that stuff).
We use Chariot energy because they had the best solar buyback deal I could find when I did power to choose. I signed up for a 36-month when it ends I’ll re-evaluate.
I use Direct Energy for electricity and Spectrum for Internet. No issues with both companies and I have been a customer for years.
If solar go with Reliant they have the Best Buy back. Frontier for internet
Electricity will be delivered through ONCOR so doesn't really matter which provider you choose for billing. Personally I use Shell's 100% renewable energy plan which costs about 10c/kwh. Pricing varies a lot over the year. Check powertochoose for the best deals!
For power in Texas, it is delivered to your house by only one company. But is resold through multiple others. Power to choose website will tell you the options for the retail in your area.
For Internet it will be limited based on where you buy or rent. Frontier FIOS is fiber to the house and pretty good. aTT has a fiber to the neighborhood model, which can vary with traffic from your neighbors. There may be others but check your address first
I use AT&T for internet and Frontier for electricity - both have been great for me (Dallas metro). You can search electricity providers and pricing at powertochoose.org.
Pyramid Scheme, or something similar. The leasing agent at my apartment complex had some type of deal with them. Therefore she recommends them to all tenants
Bulb.com for electricity and anyone who provides Fiber in your location.
