Balancing job interviews with a full-time job is tough. Taking time off, managing travel, and making it work within business hours isn’t always easy. And when you don’t get selected, it can feel discouraging.
Companies encourage in-person interviews but do they realize the challenges for working professionals? Remote or flexible interview options could make things easier, but those are still rare.
To everyone job searching right now: I see you, I feel you, and I hope your hard work pays off soon

That's true, sometimes it's necessary to take random days off to interview. And if you do it enough it begins to look pretty obvious that you're making plans to leave. Video interviews are more common than they used to be, more use of video meetings was at least one good thing to come out of the pandemic.

Hello everyone,

Can anyone here help me land on any administrative job?. I've been trying to find a job for a year now and I don't know what to do again.

Have a professional review your resume if you’re not getting interviews. If you are getting interviews but not offers, do some training on how to interview.

Any Bridge Engineers/Structural Engineers in here? I got my PE this year and have 5 YOE in TX + an MS. What sort of raise would you expect for receiving your PE working in a consulting firm? I am EOR on a number of structures in development, I manage EITs and Drafters (within projects; I'm not a supervisor), and am doing a lot in general. I'm at 78k currently, which is apparently still in the upper range of EIT salaries per a job posting in CO. I'm thinking of 15% (5% merit, 10% PE). Any ideas?

Tips for 6-month eval? Originally hired at 35K as assistant and was told if I performed well, I could expect to make 50K after a year. After one week, the operations manager resigned and I took over as a trial. Officially am operations manager, but no title (only verbal) and no raise. Owner likes benefits over big pay raises. Thinking about asking for 46K, new cellphone and official title change. I'm expecting some negotiating, which I've never done. 24F, AA Bus Admin, and overall good employee

Additional Posts in Administrative Assistants

Hey! I’m new here and would like some input. I’ve been working in a new position for almost 5 months. In that time I’ve witnessed some unethical and lots of unprofessional behavior. I’ve been yelled at and berated by my coworker 3 separate times because of minor errors. I’m ready to quit. There are so many major issues in this company that I don’t know if I want to subject my mental health to this degree of toxicity. I just don’t know how to move forward from here.

Help,I started a new career n the events industry and I think I have to quit! The person I report to is so disorganized and there are no other managers in the office to direct day to day operations of our department. On day 2 I was asked to go to a job site and perform a 12 hour day without any training, safety equipment or tools. On day 3 I was asked back to site to do general labor! I ended cutting my hand on an exacto knife and there was no first aid! Is this normal?
