Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

If you are a student from their target school, it's generally more advised to network with the recruiter for your university. Probably get more attention that way rather than a referral unless you can get a strong referral from a partner
For context, I can’t find any info on who our on campus recruiter/recruiters is/are, and I have a pending offer I have to sign within the first week or two of September, before any of our on campus recruiting events
1. Sign the offer 2. Go to your university's career services and ask if you can get contact information for eyp recruiting team 3. Start talking to the recruiter and continue that until on campus recruiting event 4. If you get an offer from eyp, respectfully rescind the earlier offer and go with eyp.
It's okay to decline after you accept as long as you are respectful about it. Do what's the best for you, and right the best thing to do is accept the offer that you already have
Yeah I think the uni events are more helpful on that end versus referrals
