What are the healthcare verticals of social media companies called? For instance, at Facebook it seems to be called ‘creative shop health’ from what I can tell. What’s the analog at Snap or TikTok or even big tech like Apple Amazon or Google?

A big tech/creative conundrum!

Copywriter w/ a decade of big name agency work, few awards but no lions or pencils. Making decent salary and decent work. Fairly happy but worried about balancing kids/money/work next year.

Have a great offer for a copy role at Facebook (salary, benefits and stock are amazing and way above what I could ever earn at an agency).

Would this effectively be my forever exit from the agency world? Ive heard once you leave you can’t come back. Any experience with this?

Trying to transition from the tech-ed/training industry into something more adjacent to creative writing, books, and publishing. My Bachelor's degree is in English (Creative Writing) but I have a background in secondary education, instructional design, and pedagogy. I've been working in the tech-ed space for 6 years and I'd like to transition out of it into something more writing-related. Preferably a job that can be done remotely with decent benefits. Any suggestions on where to look?

What type of companies do you think is the best combination of creative projects, good benefits/pay and work life balance?

For now my impressions:
Tech > boring work, good benefits and work life balance
Retail > boring work, worse benefits and good work life balance
Start ups > medium boring but more stressful, no job security, more pay, less benefits

What else there is? What options?
Entertainment? Fashion?

Any (video) editors turned AD or CD here? 6yrs of editor exp, been at the same shop for ~2yrs with no raise/promo. Good people & projects but the paycheck is beginning to sting with healthcare copays, consumer costs, housing going up. Feeling unsure where my career should go from here. Senior editor is the clear next step, but I’ve begun feeling like my career might have more room for growth if I aim for more of a hybrid creative path.

Curious if others have made that kind of jump.

Would you take an offer where there’s a lot of red flags about the company, the title is down leveled, but the money is better? For context, it’s not a creative role, I’d be the first woman on the team, there’s no bonus or 401K match, but the salary is $50K more than my current role. But there are so many red flags and the entire process was very chaotic.

I work client side and had a woman in my team just put in her notice because she got an offer from another company for much more than she’s making here. Is $60k for a fully remote mid-level (3-5yrs exp) design position reasonable? If I rehire at the same salary will I get someone who will feel underpaid? It’s a state org so the benefits are amazing - but I don’t want to find myself in a situation where someone feels under valued from day 1. Thoughts, creative fishies?

I moved to NYC a few years ago, and most of the jobs I have found here have been in Healthcare, even tho I have lots of Consumer/CPG experience under my belt.

While it pays the bills, I can’t stop thinking that is not what I moved to this city for. I have bigger career goals, and I want to achieve them.

On the other hand was thinking Amex since our corporate card is Amex and I already have membership rewards to Amex.

Both have equally good benefits for mid travel benefits
And also I believe Amex will have less annual fee since we have Corporate card. right ?
