Nope. I log off at 5pm and don’t sync my work email to my personal device so I don’t see anything until I log back on in the morning. If I were in a higher position (management, senior leadership, c-suite) then maybe I would consider it, but not at the career level I’m at currently. You all get 8 hours of my time and that’s that.
Nope, I log off and it’s out of sight, out of mind until the next morning. Boundaries are a good thing.
Admittedly, I check it constantly. I recognize that I have to be aware of what goes on after normal working hours. Just used to it and don’t really mind. It’s not extreme though, I just check my emails in general pretty often until like 10-11 pm.
I read them just like any other notification that pops up on my phone but I don’t give them any mental space or energy. It can always wait till tomorrow.
Yup, all the time. It’s what I signed up for, just the nature of the business.
I’m the opposite. I never check email after hours, but I also have notifications turned off during the day and only check it once every 1-2 hours. If it’s urgent they will call.
I have instituted some rules which changes the culture. Email is to be answered within 24hrs. Teams is to be answered within the hour and within regular business hours; if you are in a meeting just have teams reply that are in a meeting. And for urgent matters, either use the phone (when working remote) or go to the person’s office.
This does not necessarily work when you have external clients as you cannot effectively change the culture of such clients. I also do not send email after 6pm (delay them to the next morning) unless someone in my team is waiting for a decision or info required from me.
Pretty much always on, especially after the kids go to sleep. There are boundaries I set, but pretty rare for me to answer emails or a call.
All day every day! Not a badge of honor, but, fomo.
I do for sure
I’m off today and have checked teams and outlook lol
I work from home and have exclusive work space. I will log out my computer after 5pm and won’t check email after logged out. Sometimes, I will work overtime a bit to meet deadlines.
