This is the finance bowl tho
Fuckin Barclays bein a nerd
No, across the firm at MS is Analyst, Associate, VP, ED, MD unless you are looking at HR/Ops/WM
this is inapplicable to investment banking (ie this fishbowl). fishbowl would be more useful if all posters had both firm + role identifiers for context purposes
Well there are not any “senior managers" or “managers” in say industrials coverage at MS. Perhaps you’re correct about some other line of business, but many people are unlikely to know which
Why are Ops people on this app? Honest question
I believe across the firm their hierarchy is analyst, associate, manager, senior manager, vp, ed, md
I don’t understand what you mean mr. Barclays
Ok
The more the merrier but a quick IBD/Ops/S&T/ER in parentheses coulda made the first post less confusing. Actually role should be next to every post. An IBD analyst whining here about work life balance probably wants to hear from ibd people more than ER or ops probably
Why do you care so much
In IBK?
They also have senior associate
MS also has Director between Sr. Mgr and VP. A Director friend in Ops had a very difficult time applying for roles outside the firm because it was assumed she was ridiculously overqualified. I don’t know if they have all these titles as bait to work for promotions (rather than cash, but that’s another story), or what, but it's a huge problem if you’re trying to get a job elsewhere.
Yeah, in HR, Manager is btwn Associate and VP. In WM, it’s AVP. In Ops, it’s Director. Almost all other groups just label it as Associate.
Because it’s a finance bowl @Ass1
