Currently a senior associate transaction specialist at a V10. I’ve been told I’m behind technically where I should be (and I agree, I lateraled from a firm with poor training and a different focus). Almost certainly will not make partner here and expect to get the talk this year or next. There are very limited in house options for my current practice in my area. A regional firm with a “WLB culture”has shown interest, but it would require a retool and probably a 1-2 year haircut. Cont in comments

I would go for it.

I could have written this myself! I say go for it if you could see yourself there long term. Even if not, you still have the biglaw name on your resume if you decide you don’t like it and still want to go in house

The regional firm has very low turnover and a focus that they claim leads to much steadier work flow with minimal work at night and only a couple weekends a year during Q4. They also bill on the 1/4 hour. Minimal BD required, one tier of equity partnership and appears to have a significantly more accessible path to partnership. I realize this is coming with some recruiter spin, but the type of work sounds more enjoyable than my current deals and PPP are in the $3-4M range (assuming typical spread where new partners are much lower than that). Main drawback is they are a flexible 5 days a week in the office (ie, no prob to wfh for an appt or something but no standing WFH arrangements). My other plan is stay at the V10 (which I generally like, other than feeling like I suck at it) until I get pushed out and start applying for anything in house, knowing it will be hard with my background and will be a huge paycut. My ideal would be something remote. I don’t really have the stomach to lateral to another BL to aim for counsel or similar and part of me is excited at leaving behind my hyper technical specialist practice. I haven’t been more than 2 days/week in office since Covid and have a 1 year old so don’t want to underestimate that piece. WWYD? Anything else I should be considering/asking?

If you or someone you know would be interested in volunteering, I can connect you with the organizers. Good opportunity to give back/support a good cause.

I've been following Coforge LinkedIn page, and I have decent offer from them. In one call HR said we will be moving towards 5 days work from Office, to which I said I don't mind. Now that aside, their LinkedIn posts everyone at VP SVP levels are joining.. seems like they are growing very fast, as hiring at such high Positions happens only that time.

Question is - whenever I compare Coforge with any other people say avoid Coforge.. Why????

One of the team member has applied leaves for continuous 3 days this month. Later she applied for a 15 days leave saying a medical emergency. Both the leaves were rejected from her manager saying connect with HR. though she is on leave without PM leave approval and this is not even prior notice to the team.
Now'what and all would be the consequences she might face. Is there any chance of these things are being escalated? Please advise!
