Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

I believe this has been a recurring issue over the past ten years. The prices for food, rent, and overall living expenses are just spiking, but the salary increase has not been rising the same with inflation
I would leave my industry and type of job in a heartbeat (legal marketing - pays better than other industries, but I have a 100 mile round-trip commute three days a week since I live in a more affordable livong area outside of a major metrpolitan area where I work). If only what I really wanted to do would pay the bills. I'd love to take care of horses or have a cat/dog boarding facility. But as a horse owner (and also a dog and cat owner), having them and maintaining the property (myself, with no help, on the weekends and only 1 hour available each evening) is hard.
Insurance costs have skyrocketed in the seven years I have had my place (I am paying more than twice as much for homeowner's insurance now than 7 years ago, so I have to find an extra $3000 for that in my budget). And I have to have other insurance like flood insurance, farm and liability insurance, and all those costs have gone up significantly, as well. I'm grocery shopping at Aldi, rarely eating out, hand-sewing ripped fly masks again and again to squeeze all the life out of them, rarely ever buy new clothes for myself and if I do, it's at Plato's Closet or other second hand stores, waiting for Labor Day and other sales to stock up on day to day essentials, couponing.
I went through a layoff in between and am earning now what I was earning 7 years ago and having to really stretch each dollar. I am managing to save a little but not nearly as much as before and not enough to even remotely think about starting my own business. Plus with costs rising for everyone, there is less disposable income for people to board their cats and dogs or to even take riding lessons, much less own and board horses.
So, yes, I am in golden handcuffs as well, even though they are actually more like bronze than they are gold, since I am just barely squeezing by (though I recognize that I am luckier than most).
