Do all FAANG companies offer a joining bonus?
Hi Guyz,
Any one from IBM ?
I went through the entire recruitment process and got selected for IBM ISL. Now I am being told by the HR that they are unable to release offer as there is a hiring freeze.
Can any one please tell me if its correct or just an excuse not to give me offer. If its true, when will this freeze be removed?

We use points on travel with the kids all the time. But my husband and I don’t do ‘solo’ treat yourself trips. We’ll take a trip together without the kids and use points then too. Using points at for us is more about the affordability for points vs dollars than who’s going
Usually depends more for me on if I’m getting a good redemption with my points, and if not I’m just paying out of pocket (unless I’m tight on cash, then I’ll just use the points)
My family made great sacrifices with me traveling for work and earning points, so it's only fair that they get to take advantage of those points.
This. Every year I treat the kids to a first/business international family trip all thanks to points and upgrade certificates bought by selling our soul everyday :)
My kid is 4 and we haven’t done any solo trips yet. I use points as family because we all go together. My kid just flew business to Europe because my husband has a bad back and it was best for all three of us to be in the same cabin.
My wife and I take a vacation just the 2 of us every 2 or so years and treat yourself (busines class, park hyatts etc) but we also do probably 2-3 family trips a year (visiting grandparents, going on spring break etc).
Haven’t paid for a vacation in 15 years apart from the rare occasions where the cash rate is stupid cheap compared to points- but I’ve also been pretty intentional on churning, paying with personal cards etc.
I’m still at the point where I gift family stays or fun flights (anniversary gifts or family who normally couldn’t afford the trip/flight etc).
It’s amazing how big of an impact even just a Hyatt cat 4 night or an upgrade certificate can make on those who aren’t used to the travel grind.
