For those of you who got covid after hearing someone around you was exposed - were you more keen to pay attention for symptoms and if so, what were some early signs you were going to be sick too? I was exposed over the weekend and can’t stop questioning every little thing. I realize as each day passes, the likelihood of being sick decreases but I’m still paranoid as so many people I know have gotten sick over this past month
Friday the 13th and have been puking my guts out since 3am. Literally one of the worst times of the year to get sick.
Tried to help an older lady take her luggage down the stairs at Union Station (Chicago). She panicked and held onto her luggage very tight. On hindsight, (cont)

I think I’ve come to terms with the fact that I want to switch to a smaller boutique consulting firm. Any advice on how to start the search to find a local firm with a good culture?
Those who switched from a regional firm to Big 4 as a tax senior 1, how was your experience? What were some key differences?
I’m about 1.5 years in, busy season ends in Feb, have a job offer lined up at another big 4 early March as a senior in an m&a advisory role. This will be the first job I’m leaving and I swear the anxiety I have revolving quitting is worse than busy season. How do I go about leaving virtually...who do I email first? I’m lost please help
I have a boss that always canceled meetings with me including performance reviews. I’ve been trying to get on his calendar to let him know I’m leaving but just getting more of the same. All of my work is in good shape but needs senior eyes and not left for junior folks to handle. Some of them are high profile and client-facing. How do I close this chapter without burning bridges?
Current M&A tax associate, just got off the phone with a recruiter for a senior M&A position at a private company. Involves a massive raise but with the caveat I won’t be under a CPA to get the experience to be licensed. Should this be a deal breaker? I don’t think I want to stay in accounting/tax long term but it feels somewhat wrong to have spent all that time on the exams just to not get licensed. Thoughts?
Has anyone rented workout clothes at the Westin before? Thoughts on the quality/cleanliness?
Interviewing tip needed: I feel like a diversity hire at most of the companies I have worked for. A sentiment that is felt by other diverse colleagues at my job. When looking for a new job, what questions can I ask to find this out before I join? How can I assess whether a company truly values my skillset, pay equally, & promote equally? Whether there are implicit biases at play? My current job has 2 diverse bosses at senior level so I took that as a good sign but I was wrong.
