Whether it’s intentional or just a failure of leadership, the result is the same: people are pushed out without support or dignity. Companies need to be held accountable for fostering environments that quietly punish instead of address issues. A healthy workplace doesn't let people drown—it finds out why they’re sinking.
I think I remember reading about some major company's (Microsoft or Amazon?) RTO being super chaotic and people hypothesizing that it was by design, specifically to encourage people to quit. I don't know if that was true, but I could definitely see it being the case. Severance packages are expensive. If a company can avoid paying by making the workplace miserable, I wouldn't put it past them.
Rising Star
It’s either weaponized incompetence or it’s deliberate. Some managers are oblivious to the issues within the team. If they ignore the issues, it’s a hope those will go away. For the ones who do it on purpose, they are weeding out the workers they don’t like.
I mean at this point i wouldn't put it past them because too many companies seem so unconcerned with how toxic the environment is and won't do anything to change it. Its an interesting theory, thats for sure.
