Do you think our raises this year will actually keep up with inflation? From my perspective, the last few years have been brutal. The U.S. inflation averaged over 6% from 2022 to 2024, while my raises barely hit 2-3%. Feels less like progress and more like running in place while prices sprint ahead.

No, don’t plan on it. Likely 1-3% again is my guess

I agree, I’m not very optimistic for raises this year

Lol, no.

I’m really not sure since it happened just before I joined, but it was definitely a big plus for me. Especially coming from somewhere where I had stayed for far too long and ended up being severely underpaid.
When I joined two years ago, the salary was more than I ever expected to make. The fact that it hasn’t gone up in two years hasn’t been too concerning to me for this reason, but after a few years of this hyper inflation, a raise would be nice. My bonus went down in the second year too, so it was effectively a pay cut, but still a bit more than I feel I deserve :/ damn imposter syndrome

smart

I see a raise of like maybe 2% coming my way this year. We’ve been fighting for our lives over here.

Thats exactly the number in my mind too!

Nope salary never catches up with market thats why people need to hope every 3-5 years to get their pay adjusted

Yeah, that’s true. It feels like a constant game of catch-up. Waiting every few years for an adjustment doesn’t exactly keep pace with rising costs.

Genuinely curious question: why do so many international students want to get MBAs in the US... it’s hard for them to get work here, with Trump it’s hard to even get and stay here, so what’s the appeal? There are plenty of other good universities internationally so why the expensive ones in the US?
